Install ZeroTier and join the Network

ZeroTier

If you do not have it already, download ZeroTier and install it on your computer, phone or tablet.

Join the network

The public meet.capitar.io ZeroTier network ID that can be used is: 9867e0eafdb5d4b6

Alternatively you can create and use you your own ZeroTier network and ensure that the participants have access to it.

More information on how to join a network can be found at the ZeroTier KnowledgeBase.

Allow global

When joining the network, if you use a Mac computer or Chrome browser, set the ZeroTier client network settings to allowGlobal. This will enable access to the Google IPv6 nameservers wich is required for these configurations to use IPv6 on the ZeroTier network.

ZeroTier network security settings

The ZeroTier network itself is configured to only allow the following IPv6 traffic:

  • To use WebRTC between room participants (UDP ports 10000 and higher between all connected devices within the room)
  • ICMP (e.g. ping for troubleshooting)
  • DNS queries to 2001:4860:4860::8844/127 and 2001:4860:4860::8888/127

Make sure that your OS allows the use of this adapter for the same rules. For Windows, e.g. select the private / home profile for the ZeroTier network adapter or set explicit rules.
